climate change Flashcards
impacts of sea level rise
erodes beach and wetlands, affect climate e.g heavy rain, strong winds, severe storms, causes flooding which damages buildings and properties, affects peoples properties and crops which causes loss of money and food. also could affect mental health or cause people to move to another place to live.
how does population increase relate to global warming
more people so more things like fossil fuels are needed to be burnt for resources, e.g fuel/gas for cars
how does global warming relate to fossil fuels
as more fossil fuels are burnt, more carbon dioxide is being released into the air, this is a greenhouse gas and greenhouse gases trap heat in the atmosphere which leads to global warming
impacts of global warming
climate change, hotter temperatures, more severe storms, heatwaves, droughts, wildfires, floods which will affect the people as they will lose money, property and possible family. global warming can also lead to the extinction of animals due to the lack of food or strong habitats and its not just the lack of food for animals, but for people as well which can also lead to health risks and since it will be harder to grow crops and produce food in some areas of the world, the prices will rise. rising oceans. water
impact of enhanced greenhouse effect
rising sea levels, extreme weather events like heatwaves, floods and storms, bigger snd greater amount of wildfires, melting of glaciers and polar ice, increased acidity in oceans
what is the global atmospheric circulation model showing
movement of air around the planet and explains the thermal energy and how storm systems move over the earth’s surface
