Climate Flashcards

1
Q

how’s the climate in Bordeaux?

A

Maritime and Atlantic, with the Gironde river that protect the vines from spring frost. Winters are short, damp spring and hot summers. Coastal pine forests protect the Médoc vineyards from harsh west and northwesterly winds, but rain is a worry, especially at harvest. The climate becomes more continental toward St-Émilion and Pomerol.
