CLF GA 3.1 Flashcards
As God’s people, the Church continues Christ’s mission to redeem all people.
The Church is the People of God
This image is reflected in the ministry of Jesus Himself. He identified himself with His followers: It was Paul who developed this theme on the Body of Christ.
The Church is the Body of Christ
The temple of God, and the Spirit of God dwells in you
The Church is the Temple of the Holy Spirit
Jesus cared for the Poor, so the Church should also do the same
Church for the Poor
Individual families are called to share in the mission of the Church, precisely as a family, the “Domestic Church”, and to participate in the development of civil society.
Community of Families
The Church does not exist for the good of its own members alone
Community in Mission
Because its source is the Living God who calls the whole human race to unity with the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit.
The Church is One
Because its founder, Jesus, is Holy, and its soul, the Holy Spirit, is Holy.
The Church is Holy
Because it is “Universal”, “Complete, “All-embracing”
The Church is Catholic
Because it draws its origin from the apostles themselves.
The Church is Apostolic
