What is a clause?
A group of words that contains a subject and a verb.
What is an independent clause?
Can stand alone as a complete sentence
What is a subordinate clause?
Cannot be a complete sentence by itself, functions as part of a sentence.
What is a noun clause?
A subordinate clause used as a noun in a sentence, can function as a subject, direct/indirect object, an object of a preposition.
What is a relative clause?
Subordinate Clause that functions as an adjective modifying a noun in a sentence.
What is an adverbial clause?
A subordinate clause that functions as an adverb in a sentence.
What are the three types of Subordinate Clauses?
Noun, Relative, and Adverbial
What are the two types of clauses?
Subordinate and independent.
What do Adverbial Clauses begin with?
Adverbial conjunctions begin with subordinating conjunctions.
What are some Subordinating Conjunctions?
After, Although, As if, As long as, As much as, As soon as, Because, Before, Even if, Even though, In order that, Provided (that), Since, So that, Than, Though, Unless, Until, When, Whenever, Where.
