11
Q

Describe particles in a solid.

A

Strong forces of attraction between particles. Held in fixed position. The do vibrate. Can’t be easily compressed. Very dense so lots of particles in a small volume.

12
Q

Describe liquids in particles

A

Some forces of attraction between them. Particles are close but free to move. They stick together. Liquids don’t keep a definite shape. Liquids do not compress easily. Liquids are quite dense.

13
Q

Describe gas in particles.

A

There are very week forces of attraction. Particles are far apart and free to move. Particles move fast. Don’t have a definite shape. Can be compressed easily.

14
Q

What is gas pressure.

A

When you increase temperature this makes particles move faster this has two effects. 1, they hit walls harder. 2, they hit more often.

15
Q

Does reducing the volume increase or decrease pressure.

A

Increase because when they are squashed up together they hit the walls more often.

16
Q

What is diffusion?

A

Particles spreading out.

17
Q

What happens with diffusion.

A

Particles move from high concentration to a low concentration.
