a contract is an agreement or promise between two or more parties recognised by law
-if damages occur the plaintiff may seek an injunction or perform an order for specific performance

governs relations involving things and interests that can be owned
what is tort law
a tort is a civil wrong. deals with situations where someone has done something to interfere with the rights of someone else
