The process of changing location of part or the whole of the organism

The process by which all living things get energy. It happens inside cells.

The process of detecting and responding to changes in your environment.
Growth
An increase in the number or size of cells in an organism.
Reproduction
The process of producing more of an organism.
Excretion
The process of getting rid of waste products that would otherwise be harmful to the organism.
Nutrition
The ability to acquire nutrients from the environment, particularly for energy.

Vertebrate - An animal that has a backbone
Invertebrate -An animal that does not have a backbone

Classification
The process of sorting living things into groups based on different criteria.
Continuous & Discontinuous variation
Continuous - A variable that can take any value (e.g. height)
Discontinuous - A variable that can only take certain values (e.g. blood type)
Variation
Differences that exist within a population
Gene
A small piece of DNA that contains the information for making a protein.
Environmental & Genetic variation
Environmental - Differences within a population caused by changes in the environment (e.g. food availability)
Genetic - Differences within a population caused by differences in genes.
Identical Twins
Twins that share the same DNA.
