why do we classify
we classify things to make it easier to identify them and communicate with other people about these things.giving things names helps ensure everybody knows what their talking about.

the process in which we put things into groups
what does a taxonimist do
taxonomists- are a type of scientist wo place things into groups
list examples of classification you experience every day
& why
- grocery store
- school as in gender
- clothing store
- culture
why aren’t the products in the supermarkets arranged in alphabetical order
since food products have differnt needs so they are sorted in to groups based on their major similarities (example frozen section since while lasgna and icecream don’t taste anything alike they have one main similarity when they are stored they need to be stored in cold places.)

- ages, brands, genders
- artists, type of music or genre, alphabetical order
explain why characteristics such as facial hair and and hair length would not make strong keys
They are not strong keys since both characteristics can change whereas other characteristics can’t change making them strong keys ( an example is hair and eye colour)
