clarks Flashcards
what is a mid saggital plane ?
it the plane that divides the body into right and left halves
what is a coronal plane?
it the plane that divides the anterior and posterior parts of the body
what is the transverse/axial plane?
it divides the superior and inferior aspects of the body
what is the outer canthus?
its the point where the lower and upper eyelid meet laterally
what is the infra-orbital margin/ point?
the inferior rim of the orbit located at the lowest point
what is the nasion?
it’s the point of articulation of the nasal and frontal bones
what is the glabella?
a bony prominence found on the frontal bone immediately superior to the nasion.
what is the vertex?
its the highest point of the skull in the mid saggital plane.
what is the external occipital protuberance
a bony prominence on the occipital usual coincident with the mid saggital plane
what is the eam?
external auditory meatus, the opening of the esr that leads to the auditory canal
what is the inter orbital line also known as the inter pupillary line?
its the line that joins two orbits
what is the infra orbital line?
its the line that joins two infra orbital line points
what is the anthroplpogical baseline ?
its also known as the frankfort line and it passes through the the upper border of the eam line
what is the meatal baseline?
its extends from the outer canthus of the ye to the eam and its 10 degrees to anthropological line
what is Gy?
grays - energy absorbed in the known mass
