A

-In the beginning of the Civil War, only whites served in the military. Then whites were allowed.
-Still they suffered from discrimination
> separated regiments
> Did gt the same pay or privilages
-Finally congress equalized it
-Black men’s mortality rate was much higher than whites because of the places the worked (deadly diseases)

A

Biggest Battle of the Civil War & the turning point
Union wins
DAY 1:
- South pushes the North out of town, into Cemetery Ridge (High Ground) South wins
- North takes High Ground
DAY 2:
- South attacks North
- Most IMPORTANT moment at Little Round Top
- Chamberlain ordered a Bayonet charge -> South was confused and surrendered
North wins
DAY 3:
- Lee wanted to charge: he fired cannons
- His men charged; many under Pickett’s command
- The North has more guns and cannons
- Men who made it to cemetery ridge are killed
Retreat to the South, and NEVER attacked the North again
