What:
Abraham gives a 3 minute speech that many people think nothing of. He states 4 score and 7 years ago(1776), which references the Declaration of Independence. He says that he is fighting for what the Founding Fathers wanted, free/equal people.
Second, all “Americans” North and South soldiers will be buried together. Abraham Lincoln wanted the South to join equally instead of punishing them for treason.

Why Significant:
This put forth the idea of ending slavery. Many of people saw slavery being abolished in the South, but this showed how Lincoln would end slavery for all. This would unite people and make people equal when the South joined back into the Union.

What:
It separated cotton and seeds making the cotton picking process faster.

Why Significant:
This machine was made to stop or reduce slavery by allowing machines to replace humans. This actually caused slavery to pick back up as the combination of slaves and machines would cause the economy to boom. This was an unfortunate consequence of the revolutionary machine.

Many railroads were built to make transportation quicker. The North had way more railroad line that was all connected and stronger than the South.

Why Significant:
This would give the North a huge advantage being able to transport many resources efficiently across the Union. This was considered Abraham Lincoln’s secret weapon as a process that would take months would just take a week.
