  1. First African-Americans to enter the “University of Georgia”
  2. Hamilton Holmes simply wanted to become a doctor. Charlayne Hunter simply wanted to become a journalist, but both decided they needed a higher form of education to do so.
  3. Became Head of Grady Hospital of Atlanta.

  2. Over 1,000 African-Americans were arrested.
