Civil law is a dispute between two parties (individual groups) where one parties rights have been infringed.

What does civil law aim to do?
A
The purpose of Civil Law is to restore the rights of the party that has had their rights infringed, in order to put them in the position they were in beforehand.

A
The standard of proof is lower in civil cases. It is “on the balance of probabilities.”
