A

they are heard by the district judge and you can claim up to £10,000

A

they are generally heard by circuit judges and can claim up to £25,000 and personal injuries up to £50,000.

what is a multi track?

A

heard by circuit judge or transferred to high court and you can make any claim not in fast track or small claims track.

who sits in county court?

A

district judges- a full time judge who deals with the majority of cases in the county courts.
circuit judges- a more senior judge to a district judge.
recorders- a judge who may sit in both crown court and county courts, but must start by sitting in the crown court. the appointments is pat time, perhaps 20-30 days per year, and is the first step on the ladder of judicial appointments.
