what is the civil court hierarchy?

what is the court of first instance?
the court of first instance is where the court that hears the initial trial of a case is either the county or the high court.
where does a case begin? in the county or high court?
where a case begins depends on the complexity of the case and how much money is being claimed.
what are civil trials?
civil trial take place in either county or high court depending on the amount being claimed. the claim will be set out on the grounds and amount of the claim. a defence may be filed by the defendant who is being sued. the case will be heard and decided by a judge.
is there a jury in civil cases?
in civil cases normally there is no jury.
what is the county court small claims track?
this is where a claim is up to 10,000 or personal injuries up to 1,000.
what is the county court fast-track?
this is where claims are up to 25,000 and personal injuries up to 50,000.
what is the county court multi-track?
this is any claim that is not in the fats-track or small claims track.
what is the high court (kings bench division)?
this is where the claim is above 100,000 or perosnal injuries above 50,000

this is where the claim is above 100,000 or personal injuries above 50,000
what do the county court deal with?
the county court deal with non-criminal matters. they deal with different cases such as: businesses trying to recover money that they’re owed, individuals trying to seek out compensation for injuries and landowners seeking orders that will prevent trespass.
