Courts that deal with non-criminal matters
What are civil courts designed to do?
Tp deal with disputes between individual citizens and/or businesses.
Example of disputes in civip court
Disagreements arising under contract, family and employment law.
What change did the civil justice system experience in the 1990s
There are now two key courts
- county court
- High court
What did Lord Woolf say in 1995?

A ‘track’ system (the three track system)

Puts claims in a hierarchical order depending on the value of the claim.
