Define a democracy
A democracy is a form of government in which the rulers are elected by the people in “free & fair” elections where all citizens have equal voting rights.

Define parliament
Parliament is the highest legislature, consisting of the sovereign, the House of Lords and the House of Commons.
Define the House of Representatives
The House of Representatives (lower House of Parliament) consists of 150 members who represent 150 electorates around Australia. The members are elected for three year terms.
Define the Senate
The Senate is composed of 12 senators from each state and 2 senators from each territory giving a total of 76 members of the Senate. (Also known as the upper house)
Define Head of state
Head of state is a chief representative of a country, such as a president or monarch, who may also be the head of government.
Define party platform (or program)
Party platform is a former set of principle goals which are supported by a political party or individual candidate in order to appeal to the general public

- What they stand for.

What is a political spectrum
The political spectrum uses the left and right continuum. It also is classified different beliefs in a long political spectrum.
What is about Ballot paper
- A Ballot paper is a slip of paper used to register a vote.
* It is used in secret voting and each voter uses one ballot and Ballots are not to be shared.
What is a Secret Ballot
Secret ballot is a voting method in which voters choices in an election or referendum is anonymous. Stopping attempts to influence the voter by intimidation, blackmailing and potential vote buying.
What is suffrage
Suffering is the right in political elections for women to vote.
What is universal suffrage
- Universal suffrage is the right for all adults to vote.
* EVERY adult to vote!
What is preferential voting
- Preferential voting is a system of voting in which voters indicate the first, second and lower choices of several candidates for single office.
- if no candidate receives the majority then second choices are added to the first choices until one candidate has a majority.
Explain the right-wing
Right wing ideologies focus on self-preservation and the right of individuals to increase their personal wealth through personal endeavour, and the need for businesses to operate without government interference.
