Circulatory and Respiratory system Flashcards
Circulatory system
Cardio-Heart Vascular- veins and Arteries blood vessels
Right atrium
Receives blood from the body that is deoxygenated and dark red One of the heart chambers
Left atrium
Get blood from the lungs oxygenated and bright red
Sends blood to lungs
Right Ventricle
Send it to your body
Left ventricle
Septum
Thick membrane the divides the heart in half. So blood doesn’t mix
Take care of oxygenated blood- spread through body sent Away from the heart
Arteries
Veins
Takes care of deoxygenated blood Take blood to the heart
The flow of the blood Movement of blood through the body.
Circulation
Heart Rate
How fast your heart beats per minute(BPM) Average 60-100
Size of your fist
Heart size
Nasal Passages
Lined with tiny hairs-cilia filter and warm air
Inhale oxygen exhale carbon dioxide
Oral Cavity/ Mouth
Pharynx/Throat
Separates into 2 tubes Esophagus and Trachea
Contains Vocal chords, talking,singing, noises
Larynx
Goes from the Pharynx and to the lungs lined with mucous
Trachea
Bronchi Tubes/ Bronchi
Trachea splits in two lined with cilia secretes mucous
Bronchi tree
Smaller branches filling the lungs clusters of air sacks
Right lung is bigger and divides into 3 lobes Left is smaller and divided into 2 lobes to leave room for the heart
Lungs
Air sacks in clusters exchange of gases
Alveoli
Thorax/ chest cavity
Heart, lungs, Bronchial tubes and tree
Breathing muscle contracts and helps lungs exhale relaxes- helps make more room for inhale if irritated causes hiccups
Diaphragm
Ribs
24/12 pairs made of bone. Last two are unattached and help you bend and twist
