Circulatory And Respiratory System Flashcards
Blood vessels that carries of blood from the heart to the different parts of the body to bring nutrients and oxygen to each of the body cells.
Arteries
Two pairs of arteries
Carotid and Vertebral
Mainly supplied by the internal carotid artery, a branch of left and right external carotid artery.
Head
An artery that is arising from the left and right subclavian artery
Vertebral artery
Arises from the aortic arch.
Brachiocephalic trunk
What are the 3 walls of large and medium arteries?
Tunica externa, media, interna
Muscles of the neck are supplied by the:
Superficial cervical arteries, costocervical and Vertebral arteries
The 2 major arteries in the neck
Subclavian artery and common carotid artery
This gives rise to the vertebral arteries
Subclavian artery
This supplies the teres major, teres minor and deltoideus muscles
Axillary artery
A branch of the axillary that supplies the latisimus dorsi muscle.
Thoracodorsal artery
The distal extension of the axillary as it descends down the humerus.
Brachial artery
The distal extension of the brachial artery along the radius and ulna.
Median artery
Formed by the fusion of the median and ulnar arteries.
Common digital arteries
Arises from the aortic arch given off the bronchial and esophangeal branches to supply the bronchus and esophagus
Thoracic aorta
