Circle Theorems Flashcards
Angle in a semicircle
The angle in a semi circle is 90*.
Angles at the centre and at the circumference
The angle at the centre is twice the angle at the circumference.
Angles in the same segment
Angles in the same segment are equal.
Angles in a cyclic quadrilateral
Opposite angles in a cyclic quadrilateral add up to 180*.
Length of tangents
The length of the two tangents from a point to a circle are equal.
Angle between a circle radius and tangent
The angle between a tangent and a radius in a circle is 90*.
Alternate segment theorem
Chord splits a circle into two segments. The angle facing the chord on one side, and the angle which is partly in the other segment and outside of the circle, are equal. (oe)
