Q
what are the eight circle theorems?
A
- angles in the same segment are equal.
- the tangent to a circle is perpendicular to the radius.
- the angle in a semi circle is a right-angle.
- two tangents to a circle from a point are equal.
- the angle at the centre is twice the angle at the circumference.
- the angle between a tangent and a chord is equal to the angle in the alternate segment (alternate segment theorem).
- the opposite angles of a cyclic quadrilateral add up to 180 degrees.
- the perpendicular from the centre to a chord bisects the chord.
