Cincinnatus: Translation Flashcards
There is each sentence of the latin text of sentence followed by the English translation on the other side of the card. Keep in mind that many of the sentences are quite long, so you should not aim to try and memorise them completely.
vis Sabinorum ingens prope ad moenia urbis infesta population venit
A huge force of Sabines, with terrible devastation cam almost to the walls of the city
foedati agri, terror iniectus urban set.
The fields were laid waste, the city was struck with terror
tanta trepidatio fuit quanta si urbem, non castra hostes obsiderent
There was as great a panic as if the enemy were besieging the city, not the camp
itaque civibus dictatorem dici placati qui rem perculsam restitueret, et Lucius Quinctius Cincinnatus consensu omnium dicitur
