Person who voluntarily provide po with intell or info in relation to past, present, or future crim activity with the explicit/implicit expectation of confidentiality regardless if info is acted or or not.
What is a agent?
A person who obtains evidence at or under the direction of po or who otherwise becomes a extension of po.
What is infrmt privilege?
Protects the id of CI not the information provided unless the info would tend to id CI.
What cant CI’s be?

What is a handler?
A po responsible for the management of all associated docs in regards to humen asset they have cultivated or been assigned.

What two are two important factors in meeting a CI?
- Always have a second po present.
- When possible have one handler of the same sex as CI.
What criteria prevents a CI from use?
1) Under 18yrs
2) Have a close personal relationship/family with handler.
3) Any situation that has a real or perceived conflict of interest.

What should you do with any info provided?
Test for accuracy and consistency against any other available info. Make every effort to get corroborating evidence. All in order to determine Ci credibility/reliability.
How should you meet with Ci?
Face to face, try and keep electronic communication to arranging meet.
Who has the authority to approach the crown in relation to the reduction or withdrawal of charges against a Ci.
