What are the duties of the Board of Directors?
- to advise
- to support the vision and the pastor’s directive
- act as a check and balance.
What is the purpose of the financial advisory board?
- to set salary
a. the pastor should not set his own salary nor determine his pay raises
What is the Gk word for pastor?
Poimen; it means pastor and shepherd. they are the same word in Greek.
Office of the Pastor: three things
- the only ministry given specifically to the local congregation.
- he is directly responsible to The Lord Jesus Christ for the well-being of the local congregation
- the pastor’s office is a settled stationary office
- In summary, the responsibility of the pastor or shepherd is to lead, feed, or protect the congregation also called the flock

The Aim of the Pastor:
- If the Church is to have a supernatural move of God the pastor has to be effective
- the ultimate aim of the pastor is to equip the saints with knowledge of the Word of God. Why? so they can do the work of the ministry and edify the Body of Christ.
Knowing the pastor’s heart:
2 paramount characteristics of a pastor’s heart from Scriptures:

The heart of a true pastor will always seek the way of The Lord and allow the Bible to be his guide.
1. God requires pastors to walk and lead in truth
2. Eph 5:2 and Jeremiah 3:15 the heart of the pastor parallels the heart of Christ; the pastor loves the flock with undeniable love.
