- taking second news
- copying and pasting from other media organisations and coming from another source and collecting it and putting it as their own

A
- cheaper than hiring lots of journalists to write and research stories
-more adaptable for the news stories - pick and choose stories which suit the demographic - increase the amount of stories you produce

A
- gives more power to editors and owners to manufacture the exact sort of content which suits their story
- gives more power to influential organisations and people to shape what sort of news get presented

- Press association: - they have reports everywhere in the country more able to create news stories
- newspapers buy stories from PA and edit them - don’t have the money for many journalists

- leads to journalists relying on the views of powerful and intentional individuals and groups - primary definers ( hall )
- those with less power who may disagree then begin to be seen as ‘extremists ‘
- Manning: competition increase , primary definers are cheap and reliable source of news as powerful people are always interested in having their views heard
