CHROMOSOMES Flashcards
Cell cycle
DNA copied in interphase. Mitosis (cell division) in PMAT
Chromatid
One strand of chromosome
Prophase
Scrambled chromatids form chromosomes
Anaphase
Half of the chromosome pulled to opposite sides of the cell by centriole fibres
Metaphase
DNA lines up in the centre of the cell fibres from centrioles attach
Telophase
Nucleus forms cells separated
What is the process of meiosis PMAT 1?
Interphase: DNA copied to form chromosome . Prophase: chromosomes condense swapping over of genes. Metaphase: chromosomes lineup in pairs. Anaphase: chromosomes separate. Telophase: two new cells made.
What is the process of meiosis PMAT 2?
Prophase 2: chromosomes condense. Metaphase 2: chromosomes lineup in the middle of the cell. Anaphase 2: chromosomes separate into chromatids. Telophase 2: new cells form
