Rights of data subjects
1 Get a copy of any data held about u clearly presented and any opinion
2 Have any Errors corrected or deleted
3 remove your details from direct marketing list (Text Stop)
4 right not to be subjected to any automated decisions without a human involved
5 If you suffer any damage as a result of any mishandling have right to compensation
Small claims court
- A consumer who has a disputed with a retailer can take the business to the small claims court
- handles claims easily quickly and cheaply
- Claims under €2000 cost €25 takes place in district court (local)
- Judge makes a judgement and if favour consumer they get compensation in 4 weeks
Arbritation
- Two parties in a dispute ask an independent third party to help solve the problem
- Arbitrator can make a ruling like a judge
- Tell them what to do to solve the dispute
- Both sides can agree in advance that they will accept the ruling (Binding Arbitration)
- it is a last resort
Delegation
-Is when a manager assigns authority to an employee
- Ultimate responsibility on the manager
Eg get employee to pick up deliveries
What do you need for delegation to work
- Competenet, trustworthy employees
- good control system to catch errors
- A manager not afraid to delagate
Advantages of delegating
- managers have more time to devote to more important issues
- leads to more efficient use of managers time
- Manager has less stress/work
- work done faster
- on job training for employees to become future managers
- makes employees fell valued, important and happy reduce staff turnover
Maslow theory
- Maslow believes people are motivated by their needs
- once an employee achieves there goal they are no longer motivated by it and move on to next goal
- manager should know what an employee wants as a reward to motivate staff
- Needs are arranged from basic to hierarchy

Theory X manager
- Believes employees are lazy, don’t like work and have no ambition
- motivates by 2 ways threats + punishment and money
- Employees resent being treated this way

-believes employees enjoy work, want more responsibility and have ambition
- praises employees and motivates by delegating, offering promotions and job titles
