Protein, fat and carbohydrates
Classify protein into 2 groups, give 2 sources for each
- HBV = meat, milk and eggs
- LBV = peas, beans and nuts
List 2 functions of protein
- for growth
- repair of damaged cells and organs
- production of hormones, enzymes and antibodies
Classify fat and give two sources for each
Staurated: meat, milk, butter, cream
Unsaturated: oily fish, sunflower oil, seeds, nuts, avocado

- keeps you warm
- protects delicate organs
Classify carbohydrates and give 2 sources for each
- sugar = chocolate, sweets, jam
- starch = white bread, white rice, white pasta, potato
- fibre = skin of fruit and vegetables, brown rice, wholemeal foods
Name one function of carbohydrates
- gives you energy
- fibre prevents constipation

- poor, stunted growth
- hair loss
- hormone and enzyme imbalance
