The 3 adjectives could be an allusions to how the ghost is there ti bring Scrooge back to religious moral foundations and guide him away from sin.
-biblically ivy symbolises gods gift this as there was ivy surrounding the ghost it compounds his gods like portrayal he could be seen as a recipient of gods message as he is trying to enlighten morally spiritually and religiously.
“Jolly giant” “green robe” “boarded with fur”
-gjost is presented in a jovial way akin the the idea of Father Christmas he is a jolly giant who wears a green robe which was boarded with fur. As Father Christmas is a symbol of festivity and giving: this is poignant as the ghost function is to show S how there is abundance and giving is an important attribute to have in society

-motif is similary explored with the gjost of Christmas present as it is with the ghost of Christmas past: light symbolises hope throughout the novella thus the ghost of offering S another oppurtunity of hope and promise for the future
“Glowing torch in shale not unlike plentys horn”
-plenty horn in Latin is know as cornucopia symbolic of nourishment and abundance
-ghost holds the emblem of the torch reinforcing the motif of light again highlight s how he is showing S there is an abundance of resources to be shared -no malnourishment or neglection should commence in a society that has plenty: direct cristcm of Malthusian views which has no regard for the poor and destitute

-ghost rejects S’s accusation that sprites created sabbath closures.
-gjost highlights that mankind commit injurious and immoral acts yet try justifying it through religion the ghost is scathing of this due to the asyndetic list of sins. Makes list seem ongoing, reinforcing how there is an ongoing abuse of religion from human individuals claim ti uphold religious values but don’t practice them
-exchange between S and ghost about the sabbatarians highlights the idea of Victorian hypocrisy
