King Henry VIII wanted to divorce his wife but the pope said no, he created the church of England and made himself head of the church

Non-conformists are evangelical churches that chose not to conform to some of the practices of Protestant churches and subsequently broke away from them

Summarise the crossing of the Red Sea
When the Israelites, reached the Red Sea, Moses stretched out his hand to part the sea, allowing his followers to cross safely. The Egyptian soldiers followed them in attempt to reinslave the Israelites but God told Moses to stretch out his hand again and the sea engulfed the army.

What type of love is Gods love?
Agape love, unconditional, selfless love
Gods love is universal.
God loves even the worst sinners or offenders, which suggests that even bad people can be reformed and reconciled to God.

God sacrificed his only son (Jesus) for humanity’s FARS
What does FARS stand for?
Forgiveness, atonement, reconciliation, salvation

Might lead Christian’s to believe in miracles such as miraculous healing, deliverance from trouble or danger and trust in and pray to God to meet their materials need and help people who are sick or dying
How might belief in Gods omnibenevolence influence Christians?
May influence Christian’s to follow Gods examples and show agape love to others and to feel that no matter who they are or what they have done, God loves them unconditionally.
What does the attribute that God is just imply?
That God is fair and therefore won’t act unfairly or unjustly
God treats everyone equally without prejudice of favour
Everyone has equal value and rights before God

‘God will not act wickedly and the almighty will not pervert justice’
How might belief in God as just influence Christian’s today?
To act rightly —> day of judgement
Treat others fairly and equally without prejudice
Work for justice and fight injustices —> MLK
cope when suffering injustice —> knowing that God would judge EVERYONE on judgement day and they will get karma
What is the problem evil?
An argument from Epicurus in the 3rd century that if God is omnipotent and omnibenevolent why is there suffering and evil
The fact there is suffering and evil made Epicurus argue that God either doesn’t exist or isn’t simultaneously omnibenevolent and omnipotent
Define evil
Opposite of good. Force or personification of negative power that is seen in many traditions as destructive against God
Define suffering
Refers to the pain that a person goes through for whatever reasons, e.g. moral evil or natural evil
What does the existance of evil challenge?
The belief that God is simultaneously omnipotent, omnibenevolent, omniscient

Why did evil and suffering enter the world?
Because Adam and Eve wrongly used their free will in the garden of Eden where they allowed Satan to deceive them and subseq Disobeyed God

God sent Jesus because God is a loving God. Through Jesus’s death, he bought FARS to humanity
