why does the trinity have to be involved with creation?
God is the trinity so the trinity had to have existed before the creation. trinity is the way that the world was created.
What does this mean? - ‘In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God. And the Word was God’
The term ‘word’ is linked with Jesus in many gospels. Therefore Jesus was present in creating the world.
What does this mean? - ‘The spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters’.
This shows the presence of the Holy Spirit.
How can heaven be described?
Heaven is a state of being, not a physical place. It is being with God outside of time and space.
How can hell be described?
The Bible explains hell as a place of unquenchable fire but this is a metaphor. Instead most Christians believe hell is eternal separation from God.
What is judgement?
all will be judged by Jesus according to how they behaved in life. Judgement Day is not necessarily one day and no one knows when this will take place
Why don’t all Christians believe in purgatory?
only roman Catholics believe
What parable can be used to explain judgement?
The parable of the sheep and the goats explains Judgement Day
Why is Jesus likened to a shepherd in that parable?
Jesus is likened to a shepherd who separates his flock of sheep and goats. Jesus will separate the good people from the bad people
What are the two different beliefs about judgement?
the particular judgement occurs immediately after death for an individual. Final judgement takes places at the Second Coming of Christ, when he will end time and space. He will judge those still alive and those who are dead and they will be assigned either heaven, hell
