Pope J was awarded the Balzan prize by Italian president Antonio Segni for his engagement of peace on 11th May 1963.
Most Rev. Geoffrey Francis Fisher
Dec 1960 Pope J met Most Rev. Geoffrey Francis Fisher, the Archbishop of Canterbury (head of the Church of England). This was the first time this had happened in 400 years.
Vitali Borovoi
Archbishop of the Russian Orthodox Church. Pope J met him on 13th Oct 1963.
Rabbi Abraham Heshel
Rabbi that was invited by Pope J to the Vatican to discuss Christianity’s kinship with Judaism. He was also an official observer at Vatican II.

What Pope J described non Catholics as. In a major encyclical he pleaed that truth, unity & peace should be promoted in the spirit of love.
Depoliticised the church
Making the Church less ‘political’ & easier to access. The focus wasn’t on the clergy, but now on the followers. For example, the changing of the language to the vernacular.
