Christian relief organisations such as Christian Aid provide food, water and shelter. They might do this because the parable of the sheep and the goats says that if we help others we will be rewarded in heaven.

They might also improve the community and help others. They would do this because in the bible the great commandment is to love thy neighbour as thyself. This would make them believe they have a better chance of getting to heaven.
