Explain what liturgical worship (catholics) is

A
  • follows set of prayers and readings
  • service is done by the priest
  • they sing hymns, say prayers and recite set responses to readings
  • they focus on the sacrament of the Eucharist and sacrament of reconciliation
  • Also practised by Church of England as well as catholics
  • very formal, all chairs must face alter. One behind the other

A
  • more informal, less structure to their service
  • sermon can be the main part of the service if wanted
  • prayers can be our own words and unscripted rather than from the bible or a book
  • all sit facing toward person leading (usually has several floors)
  • Eucharist isn’t the main focus of the service, its the scriptures and the prayers said

  • no priest or main leader of the service
  • people may speak whenever they feel they should
  • very large focus on the Holy Spirit
  • most of the time they are sat in silence or are meditating waiting to feel the holt spirit
