define ‘creed’:
a statement of Christian beliefs (e.g. Nicene Creed)
define ‘gentiles’:
a term used to describe non-Jewish people
define ‘incarnation’:
taking flesh; becoming human form
define ‘parable’:
a simple story used to illustrate a moral or spiritual lesson
define ‘purgatory’:
a place where sinners’ souls go when waiting to be admitted into Heaven

a visual symbol acted out by members of the church (e.g. dabbing holy water onto a baby’s forehead) to show an internal event (God blessing the child)
define ‘pilgrimage’:
a journey by a believer to a holy site for religious reasons; it’s in itself an act of worship and devotion
