What are the three phases of salvation?
- Justification- point in time when you first entrust yourself to Christ and are permanently delivered from sins penalty
- Sanctification- Ongoing process where you are gradually delivered from sin’s power
- Glorification- Point in time when Christ returns and delivers us from sin’s pressence

Define Sin Nature

Know- to learn what the Bible teaches of our new identity and regularly reflect on this
Consider- choosing to affirm what God says about our new identity in spite of all the contrary feelings, thoughts, past behaviors, evidence, other peoples’s opinions
Present- choosing in dependence upon God, to act in specific ways that are consistent with your new identity
Define Legalism
wrong actions including sins and remissions —> right action —> temporary and shallow change
poor source of moral will power, motivated by fear of what God may do, results in no lasting change

- assures us of our salvation by enabling us to relate to God personally
- illuminates us or enables us to understand the meaning and significance of God’s word and how it personally applies to our lives
- empowers us to please God by anointing us for character transformation and ministry
- comforts us with God’s love
- helps us to pray
