Mary Magdalene went to the tomb to find Jesus wasn’t there. Men came (who could have been angels) to tell them to spread the word that he rose from the dead. Jesus then went to heaven in the ascension event
What does the resurrection reassure christians?
It assures them that they will rise and live on after death in a happy place

Some believe the resurrection occurs soon after death and some believe its some time in the future
