Branch of medicine that treats mental disorders, including emotional and behavioral

Doctor who administers treatment for these disorders
Psychoanalysis
A form of psychotherapy in which the patient’s unconscious thoughts are recognized and analyzed
Narcosynthesis
Form of psychiatry that involves the administering of an IV drug that allows the patient to release thoughts that might be suppressed or repressed
Hypnotherapy
A type of psychotherapy that alters the state of consciousness to heighten awareness and opens the patient up to suggestions, etc.

Deals with involuntary physiological responses and teaches the patient how to consciously manage these responses

Hemoperfusion
A way for toxins to be removed from the blood in which the physician perfuses the blood through activated charcoal or resin then transfuses the blood back into the patient
