Chpt 2 Folding And Fold Mountains Flashcards

1
Q

Q

Describe the case study on the formation of the andes mountains

A

The Nazca plate moves towards the South American plate. Where they collide the Nazca plate sinks under the South American plate. The crust is folded to form the Andes mountains on the South American plate. Earthquakes and volcanoes are also formed along this boundary.
