Chong Mai Trajectory
Internal Branch: Between the kidneys, through the uterus emerging at
Ren 1
Abdominal Branch: Emerging at St 30 —> Kid 11 ascending to Kid 21
and then disperses over the chest
Head Branch: Ascends over the throat —> around the chin/lips and
ending below the eyes
Spinal Branch: From Ren 1 ascending the lumbar spine level to L2
Descending Branch: From St 30 over the medial thigh –> lower leg
—> medial malleolus –> separates at heel
1st Branch: Kid 1 over the foot arch
2nd Branch: Big toe then connecting to the Liver Channel

Chong Mai Significance
- Strong connection to Uterus
- Related to 7-8 year life cycles
- Ensures the descending of Yin to the legs
- Sea of Blood: Connection with gyno and blood stasis
- Growth of body hair
- Connection with chest and heart for palpitations, arrhythmia,
anxiety ( in menopause)

Rebellious Qi of Chong Mai can cause symptoms in the chest, abdomen, breasts, throat and face
ie. Feeling of heat in the face with cold feet
Internal Urgency: Anxiety, restlessness

- Influences the breast by dispersing in the chest
- Responsible for transformation of blood into breast milk
- Controls the connective tissues (channels, suspension) in the breasts

- Disperses Qi in the chest

- Chong Mai is responsible for “Zong Jin” ( Rectus Abdominis and/or
penis) - With important influence on Qi and Blood it also determines erection
