What is language Acquisition Device?
LAD is the device of individuals are born with a language device that enables children to recognise and develop language that themselves experience therefore the ability to develop language is genetically programmed into individuals.
What’s his view on how language is learned?
He thinks children are born with an innate ability to learn and understand language.
How did Genie case used to indicate Chomsky theory?
She was a 11yr old girl who was found by social workers in her home. They realised that she had never socialised or interacted with anyone as her development was extremely delayed because she could not speak in any languages.
How did it encourage people?
Infants - blow bubbles, play puppets and watch other children
Young children- circle time, stories and word games
Adolescents- read a range of books, group projects, discuss ideas
