Words that reveal the writers tone, or attitude towards a situation.
Slanted language/ loaded words
An appeal to a persons sense of wanting to belong or to be accepted
Bandwagon
Comments or opinions from people who have studied or experienced the problem.
Testimonial
Give facts to, statistics, and examples that appeal to the listener’s minds.
Logical appeal
An appeal to moral values; the difference between right and wrong.
Ethos
Uses examples or language that appeals to the audiences emotional need and values.
Emotional Appeal
Faulty reasoning, or mistakes in logical thinkers
Logical facies
Assumes that there only two possible outcomes
Either/or thinkers
Broad statement that applies to or covers many individuals, experiences, situations, observations, or texts.
Broad generalization
Building an argument with evidence that contains part of the truth, but now that whole truth.
Half-truths
Something intended to divert attention from the real problem or matter at hand; a misleading clue.
