CHIP and ATAC-Seq Flashcards

1
Q

Where does CHIP-seq stand for?

A

Chromatin Immunoprecipitation Sequencing; you basically can determine the binding spot of a protein (TF) on the Chromatin (open regions); It identifies the binding sites of DNA-associated proteins (motifs) and can be used to map global binding sites for a given protein

Q

Where does ATAC-seq stand for?

A

Assay for Transposase-Accessible Chromatin. DNA can be transcribed when the chromatin is loosened; allowing transposases to bind and help us answer which part of the chromatin the GOi is transcribed
