- A ruler unifies China and finds a dynasty
- The country prospers
- The population increases
- Problems arise due to limited resources, corruption, and inequality between the rich and poor
- Natural disasters, foreign invaders and political infighting trigger multiple crises
- When these crises disrupt farming, the ensuing famine causes rebellion among the people
- The central government collapses in war
- The population decreases
- A rebel leader emerges to begin a new dynasty and the dynastic cycle starts again

An attempt by the people to over throw their government in order to create something better
