- Feb 1912: Revolution - Emperor Puyi abdicates - Sun Yat-sen takes power
- Mar 1912: Sun resigns in favour of Yuan Shikai, but Yuan will shoot Song and pay off then dissolve Parliament
- 1913: Sun’s failed ‘Second Revolution’ against Yuan
- 1915: Yuan declares himself Emperor
- 1915: Yuan accepts Japan’s 21 Demands
- 1916: Yuan dies, leaving a weak state in Beijing - the Warlord Era begins
- 1919: May Fourth Movement

Stages of the Korean War:
A
1950-51: The main back and forward fighting - Seoul is captured and recaptured four times
- N Korea invades - Allies pinned at Pusan before Incheon Landing
- Oct 1950: Chinese intervention, captures Seoul but then recaptured
1951-53: A long stalemate, with both sides wanting to end the War but the USSR not allowing it
