How often to monitor height and weight in child with UC

three–six month intervals if having
regular or continuous steroid treatment, are approaching or experiencing puberty or if they have chronic active disease. Otherwise routine review of height and weight at 12-month intervals.

When is codeine indicated in under 12s?

Answer 2

Due to the associated respiratory side effects, codeine should NOT be used for children under 12 years of age for any reason, not even as a cough linctus.

Side Effects of Desmopressin

1. Head: Headache, Emotional Disturbance
2. Nose: Epistaxis, Nasal Congestion, Rhinitis, Allergic Reaction
3. Abdo: Abdo Pain, Nausea, Fluid Retention -> Hyponatraemia*

*stop if diarrhoea or vomiting until a normal fluid balance is resumed.
