what are the warning signs of Sexual abuse?
child tells you about sexual activity, torn/bloody undergarments, anal/vaginal injury or trauma, sexualized behavior, knowledge of sexual things unusual for their age, pregnancy, STD’s, describe scenes of adults engaging in sex
what are the warning signs of Physical abuse?
injury unusual for the age/bruises/belt marks/alert/flinches/shies away from touch/wears clothing to cover up injury
what are the warning signs of Neglect?
Malnourished/hungry/hygiene is bad/missing school/left unsupervised a lot/untreated illness/clothes are dirty or don’t fit

R: may need to talk to school/doc/caregiver
M: observations of the client (appearance/memory/behavior/speech/emo)
O: how do they interact with the therapist/parents/malnourished
T: do child behavior assessment
H: history of substance abuse, how were the parents disciplined, CPS in the past?
S: is there anyone/family they can be with instead?
