Joint infection, trauma, overuse lifestyle, no family history involvement
Health history risk factors RA
Autoimmune thyroid disorders, history of fertility issues, positive family history
Classification for RA
Morning stiffness, arthritis of 3 or more joints, arthritis of hands, symmetric arthritis, rheumatoid nodules, radiographic changes, serum rheumatoid factor
Health history risk factors SLE
Infection (viral), sunlight or UV light exposure, medications (hydralazine, anticonvulsants, Penicillin), positive family history
Health history risk factors Gout
Renal disorder with increased uric acid, leukemia, lymphoma, psoriasis, chemotherapy, hypothroidism, alcohol use, diuretics, positive family history
History Risk Factors Psoriatic Arthritis
psoriasis, postive family history
History risk factors Reiter’s Syndrome
More common in males, venereal or dysenteric infection, no family history
History risk factors for Septic Arthritis
Systemic corticosteroid use, DM, Infection elsewhere in the body, direct penetrating joint trauma (injections, etc.)
Ankylosing Spondylitis
Develops teens through 40s, males 2-3 more times likely than females, positive family history
Ankylosing Spondylitis Classification
Morning stiffness more than 30 min, improvement in back pain with exercise but not with rest, Night pain during second half of night only, alternating buttock pain
Reiter’s Syndrome S/S
Urethritis, conjunctivitis, nausea/vomiting, weight loss
Systemic Lupus Erythematosus S/S
Skin rash, fever, photosensitivity, dyspnea, peripheral neuropathy
Psoriatic Arthritis S/S
Fever, fatigue, psoriasis
