Ek baar ek chidiya (bird) ped (tree) par baithi thi. Usne dekha ki uske paas ek achha sa roti (bread) pada hai. Chidiya bahut khush hui aur roti ko khane ke liye tayyar ho gayi.

Lekin tabhi ek kabootar (pigeon) uss ped par aaya. Kabootar ne dekha ki chidiya ke paas roti hai aur usne kaha, “Mujhe bhi thodi si roti dedo, main bhi bhukha hoon.”

Chidiya ne socha ki itni chhoti si roti se usko kya hoga, isliye usne kabootar ko thodi si roti di. Kabootar bahut khush hua aur roti ko khaya.

Phir kuch samay baad, ek kauwa (crow) vahan se guzra. Kauwa ne roti dekhi aur bola, “Mujhe bhi thoda sa hissa dedo, main bhi bhukha hoon.”

Chidiya ne phir se socha ki uske paas abhi bhi roti hai aur kauwa ko roti dene se kuch nahi hoga. Isliye usne kauwa ko thoda sa hissa diya. Kauwa bhi khush hua aur roti ko khaya.

Lekin ab chidiya khud bhookhi ho gayi. Uske paas koi roti nahi bach gayi thi. Chidiya bahut pachtayi aur sochne lagi, “Maine itni mehnat se roti kamayi thi, par maine dusre ko bhi di. Ab main bhukhi hoon.”

Isse chidiya ne ek mahaan sikh (lesson) seekha. Usne samjha ki humein dusre ki madad karni chahiye, lekin apne liye bhi kuch bacha lena chahiye.

Yah kahani humein yeh sikhaati hai ki humein dusre ki madad karni chahiye, lekin apni bhookh ko bhi pura karna jaruri hai.
