Q

Next step after calculating expected frequencies?

A

Calculate how much the observed and expected values differ from each other with Chi square statistic test, first subtract observed value from expected value, square it and divide per expected value, do this for each cell

Q

Next step, after you have found deviations for each cell?

A

ADD THEM all together. This value is your chi square value!

Q

How do you determine if result is significant / if you can reject the null hypothesis?

A

Refer to table of critical values. Find 0.05 column, then to know which row to look, you calculate degree of freedom by doing : d.f = (C-1)(R-1) result is the row number to look at

Q

Final chi square rule?

A

If the calculated value of chi-square is LARGER or equal to the value in the table, you REJECT the null hypothesis and conclude there is a significant difference.
